Cf. so … that ---- so that 1) so…that (1) so + a. / v. + that (2) so + a. + a(an) + 单数可数名词+ that (3) so + many / few + 复数可数名词+ that (4) so + much / little + 不可数名词+ that e.g. 1. He ran so fast that I couldn’t catch up with him. 2. Jack is so smart a boy that he can work out the difficult math problem quickly. 3. I’ve had so many falls that I’m black and blue all over. 4. There is so much room in the hall that it can hold many people. 2) so that (1) 引导目的状语从句，从句中的谓语动词常和can, many, should等情态动词连用。 (2)引导结果状语从句，意为“因此，结果”，前面通常有逗号。 e.g. 1. They set out early so that they can arrive on time. 2.
