Though Keller was on of the most famous women in the world during her life, most people now do not know her as the woman who was the activist, peace-maker and women’s rights advocator. Like many young people, the Miracle worker was my introduction to Keller. I first read the play in my seventh grade English class, where I learned about her as the famous deaf and blind child from Tuscumbia, Ala. It wasn’t until years later when I got a job at the American Foundation for the Blind that I came to know more about the adult Keller. “Some of us have imagined that we live in a democracy(民主国度)，” Keller once said. “We do not. A democracy would have a chance to be healthy, well-fed, and well-educated. It would mean that every human being would help make the laws and use them well: it would mean that everyone would have equal opportunities. Such a democracy has never existed.” Keller gave this speech somewhere between 1910 and 1919 when she was in her 30s. It reflects a Helen Keller I never knew growing up. TFK: How is Breakout different from your previous CDs? Miley Cyrus: It's a little more personal. You get to know more about different things that have gone on in my life. TFK: What is your favorite song from Breakout? Why? Miley Cyrus: Bottom of the Ocean, because it has more emotion than any other song. Even though all the songs on the CD are really heartfelt, I feel like it has more of what I want to say. TFK: Where do you get ideas for the songs that you write? Miley Cyrus: Mostly I get ideas from kids. When I'm out doing a concert and I look into the audience, and I see kids singing and dancing, it really inspires me. TFK: Does it make you nervous to know that you are a role model for so many fans? Miley Cyrus: It does. It adds pressure, but it also makes me super excited to know that people are looking up to me. TFK: What makes a good role model? Miley Cyrus: I think just knowing who you are before you try to help people find themselves. I think you just have to know who you are. 61.Breakout .
