C.how to keep an attractive body image D.how to find pleasure in your day C If it looks like a fish and swims like a fish, it usually is a fish. But not the new, lifelike robot fish developed by UK scientists, which have been swimming around the London Aquarium(水族馆) as they wait for their release off northern Spain in 2011. Equipped with tiny chemical sensors(传感器),the fish will collect data on pollution in the port of Gijón and wirelessly send the information back to the control center. “It’s a little lab onboard the fish,” said Rory Doyle, a scientist at BMT Group. The robots were designed, and are being built, by professor Huosheng Hu and his team at the University of Essex, UK. The sensors will search for dangers such as chemical waste and will allow officials to map in real time the sources and effects of pollution, Doyle said. He and his colleagues chose a fish design because hundreds of millions of years of evolution(进化) has created an energy-efficient creature, he said. “Nature has done it very, very well.” But copying such a successful design comes at a cost: nearly 29,000 u.s. dollars per robot. The fish, therefore, will be built “robust” enough to handle any possibilities, Doyle said. They can’t get caught in nets easily, for instance, and the tracking systems inside can help the robot fish avoid crashes with boats and other things in the way. So far, it also seems unlikely the robot fish will be mistaken: At the London Aquarium, sharks swim away from the fake fish, possibly because they find the robots electromagnetic fields(电磁场) unpleasant, Doyle said. At the same time, scientists are working to ensure that the sounds of the robots and other factors don’t disturb the natural environment, he added. 64.The robot fish was developed in order to_______. A.be displayed on a robot exhibition in Spain B.be sent to London Aquarium as a gift C.get information of ocean pollution D.collect data on the fishes in deep sea 65.According to Doyle, the robot was designed into fish shape in order to_______. A.cut the cost of the robot B.make the robot beautiful C.reduce the sounds of the robot D.make the robot work better with less energy 66.We can infer from the passage that the robot fish______. A.would send pictures of sea life back B.would not be looked on as a real fish by fishes C.could swim much faster than fishes like sharks D.could help find new forms of energy in the sea 67.The underlined word “robust” in Paragraph 6 probably means_____. A.small and light B.big and heavy C.smooth and soft D.strong and smart D We all have to give gifts during the year. No matter what the occasion is, birthday, holiday or a special event, we make it a point to show we care by buying something nice for that special person. Well, the waste created by gift giving can really add up in the trash. Keep in mind that there are several ways that you can cut down on the remaining waste next time you buy that special someone a gift. Make sure that your gift will be used. It’s almost impossible to make sure that the receiver will find your gift to their liking, but if you do your homework, you can be as sure as possible. Consider a gift wish list or just ask them, if you’re really not sure. It may cut down on the surprise, but if they give you a list of two or three things that they’d truly appreciate, then you can shop with the confidence that it won’t end up in the garbage five miuntes after it’s opened. When you buy a gift, make sure that it’s as ecofriendly(有利于生态的) as possible. Buy hemp(麻布) clothing, or products made with natural dyes(染料). Give the gift of donation. If you have no idea what to buy, then consider making a donation to a charity. Take into consideration their interests and passions and donate in their name. Make it or bake it. Give something that can be eaten or can be used, like some homemade vinegar or cookies. Homemade candles are very popular and can be made to be more eco-friendly than store-bought ones. Give a gift of your time. Offer babysitting services or a day of housecleanin g. Most people would appreciate a little lessening of stress or responsibility on any given day. Wrap(包装) with care. The paper products you use for gift wrap should be recycled at the very least. Gift bags can be found made from recycled materials and can be reused over and over again for many gift giving occasions. 68.According to Paragraph 2, when you need to give somebody a gift, you’d better_______. Every day, in any high school, peer pressure has a major influence over the behavior of teenagers. It can be as subtle(微妙的) as being persuaded to be late for class or as extreme as a dangerous drug. Whether subtle or extreme, peer pressure can have damaging, some-times life changing, and even serious results. “Teens don’t often consider the long-term results that some behavior can cause,” said Terri Price, a researcher. “Peer pressure can be very difficult to handle for many teens because of their fears of not fitting in.” Peer pressure has always been part of teen life, but teens experience it differently than former generations did in the past. Sources of peer pressure have increased because of the Internet and other electronic communications. Recognizing peer pressure can be as simple as noticing that you have been asked to do something that you are not comfortable with. “Listen to your instinct(直觉), which is a sign for whether something is right or wrong. If it feels wrong, then most likely it is.” Says Price. Teens are in a time of life when they are still discovering who they are. Many teens are influenced by peer pressure because of their insecurities. This can make them helpless especially when their selfcontrol is weak or they lack healthy support, causing them to take risky behavior or turn to unhealthy support. Dealing with peer pressure is a topic of concern for teens. People can say, “Just say no,” but the truth is that the statement is easier said than done. 72.The underlined word “it” Paragraph 2 refers to_____. A.the Internet B.teen life C.peer pressure D.the fear of not fitting in 73.Why are teens easily influenced by peer pressure? A.Because they don’t have the feeling of safety. B.Because they have no sense of danger. C.Because they need support for their health. D.Because they have nobody to turn to when in trouble. 74.You can know whether a teen suffers peer pressure by watching ______. A.whether he often surfs the Internet B.whether he can get security C.whether it is subtle or extreme D.whether he feels comfortable with it 75.According to the passage, we can know that dealing with peer pressure is______.
