In Brazil, soccer is considered an art form. So it is only fitting that the sport Brazilians call “the beautiful game” gets its own museum.
This is the land that produced football greats such as Garrincha, Zico, Romario, Ronaldo, Kaka, and the most famous of all, Pele. It is the only country to have qualified for every World Cup, and the only one to win it five times.
But until now, Brazil has never had a truly national museum honoring the sport that stands for Brazilian culture. That changed last month when the Museu do Futebol, or Football Museum, opened at Pacaembu Stadium in Sao Paulo.
Upon entering the museum, visitors are greeted in Portuguese, Spanish and English by a life-size image of Pele, who is so respected in Brazil that he is known as "The King."
"The Louvre has the Mona Lisa. We have our own piece of art -- Pele," said Hugo Sukman of the Roberto Marinho Foundation, which helped fund the construction of the museum.
In many ways, the museum is a shrine (圣祠)to Pele.
One of its most impressive displays is a temporary exhibit with 140 items from Pele's personal collection, including the wooden shoeshine box he used as a boy to earn spare change and the ball from his 1,000th goal in 1969.
The museum traces football's transformation from a sport for the noble to the passion of the 190 million common people. From the jungles of the Amazon to the slums(贫民窟) of cities like Rio de Janeiro and Recife, soccer unites Brazilians from all walks of life.
"In general, a museum about football is also a museum about the history of Brazil and Brazilian culture," said Leonel Kaz, the museum's curator.

What do you usually do when a flying insect lands on your arm? You may blow it away. But what if that insect is a ladybug (瓢虫)? It is possible that you would let it stay. What is it about ladybugs that we like?
Farmers once thought ladybugs were a good lucky sign. A ladybug in the field meant the crops would be successful and that the weather would be good. The farmers may have thought too highly of such a small bug, but in fact ladybugs do help out with the crops. They eat harmful insects.
Actually, it is not the adult ladybug that eats other insects. It’s the baby ladybug. When the baby ladybugs hatch (孵化), they are very hungry and will eat mites, aphids, mealy bugs, green flies, and other crop-destroyers. In the 1800s, ladybugs were brought all the way from Australia to California and set free among orange trees that were dying from being eaten by insects. They completely saved all the trees.
Ladybugs go about their daily business without worrying much about anything. Very few birds or insects will eat a ladybug because it gives off a dangerous fluid (液体). Ladybugs also protect themselves by playing dead. They fall off leaves and stay still until their attacker goes away.
So the next time you see a ladybug, think about what it may be doing. Maybe it is off to save an orange tree. Maybe its next move will be to roll off a leaf and play dead or stand up to a bird about 100 times its size. Maybe it’s letting you know that the weather will be good tomorrow. Who knows? Ladybugs are special that way.
    63. Ladybugs were brought from Australia to California in the 1800s to _______.

    C. ladybugs can give off a dangerous fluid to protect themselves
    D. the baby ladybug mainly eats mites, aphids, mealy bugs, and oranges
    65. The underlined phrase “stand up to” most probably means ________.
    A. fight B. support C. admire D. watch
    66. Which of the following may the author agree with?
    A. Ladybugs do harm to nature. B. Ladybugs are unusual insects.
    C. Ladybugs are dangerous insects. D. Ladybugs eat more than they should.

How to protect children Web fans from unsuitable materials on-line while encouraging them to use the Internet has long been discussed in the U.S..
For some parents, the Internet can seem like a jungle, filled with danger for their children. But jungles contain wonders as well as danger and with good guides, some education, and a few precautions(预防措施), the wilds of the Internet can be safely navigated. “Kids have to be on-line. If we tell our kids they can’t have chance to the Internet, we’re cutting them off from their future.” said an expert.
