Since the Spring Festival marks the first day of a new year, the first meal is rather important. People from north and south have different sayings about the food they eat on this special day. In Northern China, people usually eat Jiaozi. Its Chinese pronunciation Jiaozi means the end and the beginning of time. According to historical records, people from north and south ate Jiaozi on Chinese New Year’s Day. Perhaps because Southern China produced more rice than any other area, slowly, southern people had many more other choices on New Year’s Day. Besides, the most common foods for the first meal are noodles, New Year Cake, Tangyuan. The noodle symbolizes long life. The New Year Cake is called Niangao in Chinese, which carries the hope of improvement in life year after year. Tangyuan is a symbol of reunion.
To pay a New Year visit is an important activity during the Spring Festival. People also send cards to express a New Year’s greeting. What children love most is to set off firecrackers (鞭炮). However, as life pace is becoming faster and faster, people now have taken up new ways to celebrate the Chinese traditional New Year. For example, many people no longer send out greeting cards. Instead, they use telephones or e-mails. To travel during the New Year holidays is another fashion.

I am a good mother to three children. I have tried never to let my job stand in the way of being a good parent.
I no longer consider myself as the center of the universe. I show up. I listen. I try to laugh. I am a good friend to my husband. I have tried to make marriage vows(誓约) mean what they say. I am a good friend to my friends, and they to me. Without them, there would be nothing to say to you today.
So here’s what I want to tell you today: Get a life. A real life, not a desire (渴望) of the next promotion (晋升), the bigger paycheck, or the larger house.
Get a life in which you are not alone. Find people you love, and who love you. And remember that love is not leisure(休闲), it is work. Pick up the phone. Send an e-mail. Write a letter. And realize that life is the best thing and that you have no business taking it for granted.
It is so easy to waste our lives, our days, our hours, and our minutes. It is so easy to exist instead of to live. I learned to live many years ago. Something really, really bad happened to me, something that changed my life in ways, that, if I had had my choice, it would never have been changed at all. And what I learned from it is what, today, seems to be the hardest lesson of all。
I learned to love the journey, not the destination (目的地). I learned to look at all the good in the world and try to give some of it back because I believed in it, completely and totally. And I tried to do that, in part, by telling others what I had learned.
By telling them this: Read in the backyard with the sun on your face. Learn to be happy. And think of life as a deadly illness, because if you do, you will live it with joy and passion (激情) as it ought to be lived.
    68. How did the writer form her view of life?
    A. Through social experience B. By learning from her friends

    69. The best title of this passage probably is _________.
    A. Love your friendsB. Live a real life
    C. Don’t waste timeD. Be a good mother and wife
    70. What is the author’s attitude towards work?
    A. Do it well to serve others.
    B. Earn enough money to make life better.
    C. Try your best to get higher position and pay.
    D. Don’t let it affect your real life.
    71. By the underlined sentence “It is so easy to exist instead of to live” in the fifth paragraph, the writer really means that people tend to _______.
    A. make a living rather than live a real life B. waste a lot in life
    C. work rather than enjoy life D. forget the most important lesson in life

    Dear Editor,
I’m now busy in preparing for the Postgraduate (研究生) Entrance Exam. A few days ago, I happened to see some new guidebooks for those who want to take next year’s exam. With too many hopes and without taking it into too much consideration, I bought several that were written by some known for helping candidates (应试者) for master’s degrees.
