Peking University’s move has set off a nationwide debate. Some people approve of this move. They think this is a bold attempt to reform the current university entrance system, which provides high-quality students and students talented in certain subjects with an opportunity to enter first – class universities and ensure that they aren’t overlooked simply because of their performance in the national university entrance exam. Meanwhile, it will push high schools to pay more attention to the students’ all – round development. However, quite a few people are opposed to the move. In their opinion, it may lead to cheating. Besides, only 39 schools are qualified to recommend students, which is unfair to other schools across the country.
